This is just above my headboard, and I love it. I used vinyl from Cricutvinylsupplies.com, in a chocolate brown and a copper color. I love how the copper sparkles just a little bit, then the brown really grounds the piece. I have always loved this saying, and thought it would be perfect for our bedroom. I used three different cartridges for this project. I used Opposites Attract for "Always'" Plantin Schoolbook: Roly Poly font for "kiss me goodnight," and the hearts are from Create a Critter 2. I cut the hearts in 3 different sizes. I hope you like my project and that it inspires you to do some home decorating. Hello everyone, it's challenge time over at Fantabulous Cricut. This weeks challenge is "Fall is in the air". You are challenged to create a fall themed project, using at least one Cricut cut. Ever since our vinyl university, I have been hooked on working with vinyl, and visit the dollar store on a regular basis, looking for things that I can use. I found these great candle holders for $1.00 each at the Dollar Tree, and I bought the apple scented candles there too. I used pieces of leftover vinyl from another project, so this set cost me a total of $8.00 plus tax. I am thinking of making some more to give away as Christmas gifts :) I wish I could take all the credit for these, but I got the idea, from a photographer friends site. They used tea cups with the word "LOVE" spelled out as a part of a bridal portrait session. I used the Cindy Loo, font layer to cut the letters, then it was a simple of putting them on the candle holders. A couple of them tried to bubble up at first, but I just kept pushing the air out and smoothing it, until they laid down onto the glass. I love how the red of the candles peak through the letters. They are even more beautiful when they are lit. I have included some pictures, but they don't do it justice.

Make sure to check out each DT member's blog. There will be Blog Candy along the way at ALL of our Design Team members' blogs, and don't forget about the Grand Prize up for grabs at FCCB for one participant who submits a vinyl project at FCCB! I had never worked with vinyl before, but had been wanting to create a piece of wall art for this blank space on the wall in our living room. It is right as you walk into our hallway, so it was a glaring blank spot yelling for a big bold graphic. I was surprised at how easy it was to use, and I think I am addicted now. I wanted it to be big (floor to celling), and I was having trouble getting pre-made images cut big enough, so I decided to make my own. It was actually a lot easier than I though it would be. The flowers were cut using a circle from Craft Room Basics, cut at 2.139 high, and the petals are cut using the layer (Bird 2) from Create A Critter, cut at 7.5 in high. I just really liked the shape of the wing and thought that it made a great country flower with a modern touch to it. I cut the flowers out in blue, brown, and a deep red. I know the wall color looks yellow, but it is really more of a tan color and the vinyl colors look great on the wall. I felt that it needed something more, so I decided to cut "Live, Laugh, Love" out and add it to the piece. I cut "Live" using the Type Candy Cartridge, standard font at 2.5 in high. "Laugh" was cut using the Type Candy Cartridge, Sugar Script font at 4.75 in high. Then "Love" was cut using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, roly poly font, cut at 2.11 in high. I hope that you have been inspired by my project. Now for some Blog Candy To be eligible for my blog candy, all you need to do is become a follower and leave a comment on this post. You can comment on my project, share a tip on how to work with vinyl, or tell me what project you are working on and linking up to FCCB. I would also love it if you would "like" my Facebook page. I will choose one winner using Random.org, and announce the winner on Monday. This winner will receive a goody pack, to include some stamps and an embossing folder. I had this small blank spot on the wall in our hallway that, for the past year and a half, I haven't been able to decide what to put there. Today, I felt a bit creative, and decided to make something to put there. I had bought this wood letter "K" from Hobby Lobby, maybe 6 months ago, so I thought this would be perfect. First, I covered the wood with blue paper and paint, as that is the color my husband and son both wanted, then, after it was dry, I attached the paper flowers and butterflies. I added pearl centers to each of the flowers to give them a polished look. I added, a pop dot to the back of each of the butterflies, they just needed a little lift. I finished it off with a sheer ribbon. I wanted to use a sheer ribbon, so that it would look light and fun. This was a great way to spend a lazy afternoon.
